Afternoons with Albert is a lifestyle-wares design business based in Sydney, Australia, run by Founder and Head Designer Shane Thompson. He named his company after his carpenter and tinkerer grandfather Albert, who instilled a love for form, function and beauty in the younger Shane during many afternoons spent creating and building in a shed in Western Australia.

A commercial airline pilot for QANTAS, a mad skier, surfer and always on the go, Shane’s personal frustration with forever-tangled earphones and wandering charger cables led the avid music fan to design a solution to a problem we are all fighting with everyday. Whether on the bus to work, out running, or backpacking the globe – those pesky cords seem to have a life of their own: the moment you look away they always tangle themselves into knots. Until now.
